I find the whole Nefret/Ramses thing a bit overblown, but I am now sad that there will be no more of the series. skiourophilehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08200877834536477400noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1203893324932668537.post-87783659626335803792014-10-02T21:09:09.145-05:002014-10-02T21:09:09.145-05:00Jane, I love discovering new series! I thought the series got better once they got married, and the focus shifted back to archeology and crime. I didn't haaate Ramses and Nefret and all their romantic drama, but it wasn't my absolute favorite thing, and I got bored of them once they were married. It was lovely to have the new setting, as well. Of the later Amelia Peabody books, River in the Sky was one of my favorites.Jenny @ Reading the Endhttp://readingtheend.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1203893324932668537.post-79603369855667580322014-09-30T21:23:21.396-05:002014-09-30T21:23:21.396-05:00Alex, I've always had more books than time, bu...Alex, I've always had more books than time, but over the last few years, the blogging community has added so many books to my wish lists (not to mention shelves). I think you would enjoy the Peters books, though they are on the lighter side.

Cat, with Crombie, the first book I read - just picked up from a library shelf - came toward what was then the end of the series. I usually have to start at the beginning - but it was fun to jump in and then go back & fill in the gaps.

Helen, you do have a few ahead of you :) At least the Wentworths don't have to be read in order, though there are references to previous cases.

Andrea, thanks for stopping by! I will look for your Goodreads review. I can't believe it took me so long to read Mary Stewart's suspense novels, though I've loved her Merlin books for years.Lisahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17782561487396697870noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1203893324932668537.post-13362121757480896652014-09-30T18:16:06.606-05:002014-09-30T18:16:06.606-05:00After reading gushing reviews from many bloggers I...After reading gushing reviews from many bloggers I finally did read Ivy Tree. I have dipped my toes into the works of the other two and very much enjoyed them but you know what it's like trying to find the time for everything you want to read. Elizabeth Peters was the favourite author of a friend of mine, now unfortunately no longer with us. She was always urging me to read her and I was always promising to get round to her eventually. Maybe I should make the effort in her memory.Alexhttp://thinkinginfragments.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.com
