I still have a good few of MS's books on the TBR stacks, and some I haven't tracked down yet.Lisahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17782561487396697870noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1203893324932668537.post-41840949997514644432014-07-19T07:57:58.589-05:002014-07-19T07:57:58.589-05:00Isn't The Ivy Tree fantastic? I am saving Rose Cottage for a treat: I'd hate to run out of Stewarts!skiourophilehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08200877834536477400noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1203893324932668537.post-22157941962814111162014-07-18T17:54:50.964-05:002014-07-18T17:54:50.964-05:00Anbolyn, I think The Ivy Tree should definitely be...Anbolyn, I think The Ivy Tree should definitely be at the top of your reading list. The Ivy Tree is the one I am eyeing.Anbolynhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10080054175904900094noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1203893324932668537.post-76247169741268553572014-07-17T21:32:33.232-05:002014-07-17T21:32:33.232-05:00JoAnn, I know what you mean about Roz Chast's ...JoAnn, I know what you mean about Roz Chast's book. I don't think I could have read it even last year.

Helen, I don't have The Last Light of the Sun, yet - I have been so bad with books lately, so I'm trying to wait to buy any more. But that one will be on my list.

Cat, I came across one of the books in I.J. Parker's series at the library & was immediately hooked. The first one I read actually came late in the series, so it's been interesting filling in the gaps.

Jane, I like the term "potpourri approach" :) and I've enjoyed all the Stewarts I read so far, except Wildfire at Midnight. And it wasn't awful - though I will still avoid the convent one!Lisahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17782561487396697870noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1203893324932668537.post-82278791093570437712014-07-17T17:02:06.432-05:002014-07-17T17:02:06.432-05:00Ah, Mary Stewart--comfort reading for me for sure....Ah, Mary Stewart--comfort reading for me for sure. I really liked Rose Cottage, but then I like everything by Mary Stewart.

Can't We Talk About Something More Pleasant? sounds difficult to read, although the subject is fascinating and it sounds well-written. I think it's one of those books that you need to be in the right mood for.

I've wanted to start reading Guy Gavriel Kay for awhile now, but still haven't made room on my shelf for him.

Great posts--I like the potpourri approach to reviews at times :)JaneGShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11094501834387622997noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1203893324932668537.post-66943323536745054922014-07-17T16:13:13.623-05:002014-07-17T16:13:13.623-05:00I think the Roz Chast book would stir up too many ...I think the Roz Chast book would stir up too many sad memories for me but I do like the sound of the I J Parker mysteries - not an author I've heard of before.Cathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09391899740930810224noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1203893324932668537.post-86957028797588177142014-07-17T15:15:26.579-05:002014-07-17T15:15:26.579-05:00Under Heaven sounds great, but I bought a copy of ...Under Heaven sounds great, but I bought a copy of The Last Light of the Sun recently so I should really read that one first. I think Rose Cottage is probably my least favourite of the Mary Stewart books I've read so far, but I agree that it's a nice, relaxing story and perfect for when you need something light and gentle!Helenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06618973352348296555noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1203893324932668537.post-63363628542309546312014-07-17T07:34:53.213-05:002014-07-17T07:34:53.213-05:00I've been wondering about Roz Chasts's boo...I've been wondering about Roz Chasts's book, but it may not be the best thing for me to read right now. Looking forward to hearing what you make of it!Claire (The Captive Reader)https://www.blogger.com/profile/07430380065718826213noreply@blogger.com
