Personally, the North Polar Bear is my new favorite literary character. And, like Middle Earth, the North Pole is a very masculine place, as you point out.JaneGShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11094501834387622997noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1203893324932668537.post-58461915603916537412016-01-10T11:00:10.027-06:002016-01-10T11:00:10.027-06:00If it weren't for the TBR Dare, I would be on ...If it weren't for the TBR Dare, I would be on my way over!

Mary Ann & I were saying that it's time for another Heyer get-together!Lisahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17782561487396697870noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1203893324932668537.post-8573123436049413232016-01-09T20:40:28.080-06:002016-01-09T20:40:28.080-06:00I have a Tolkien biography written by Humphrey Car...I have a Tolkien biography written by Humphrey Carpenter and an edition of Tolkien's letters edited by Humphrey Carpenter. It didn't spoil Christmas for them! I've always been surprised that Tolkien wrote this book as I know that he advised C.S. Lewis to take Father Christmas out of the last Narnia book - which Lewis ignored of course. The book sounds charming though.Katrinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18138715309807238198noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1203893324932668537.post-38044682161701929702016-01-08T18:18:15.076-06:002016-01-08T18:18:15.076-06:00What a cool thing for a father to do for his child...What a cool thing for a father to do for his children. I wish I knew of a good biography...but the only one I've read about Tolkein is one that was written for children. And I can't even remember who wrote that one. Sorry.
