I really like the M.Maron Deborah Knott characters, and find it interesting that she created two such different characters, with Sigrid Harald. I do not find Sigrid Harald at all simpatico, only read some of them because Margret Maron wrote them. Probably if I started with them instead of D.Knott I wouldn’t have continued. Very much a comment upon Margret Marion’s skill as a writer (and perhaps a person)!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1203893324932668537.post-36000389751188987662019-04-11T07:00:59.047-05:002019-04-11T07:00:59.047-05:00I know that feeling, "So many books, so littl...I know that feeling, "So many books, so little time" :DLisahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17782561487396697870noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1203893324932668537.post-26002050994333013882019-04-09T15:18:01.691-05:002019-04-09T15:18:01.691-05:00I'm in luck! Of course, finding the time to read any of them is another matter. ;DLark https://www.blogger.com/profile/13777891312147377769noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1203893324932668537.post-1051623183038067342019-04-08T19:00:17.594-05:002019-04-08T19:00:17.594-05:00And one who has written a lot of books :) But the ...And one who has written a lot of books :) But the Knott stories are really good.Lisahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17782561487396697870noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1203893324932668537.post-38574730392228896642019-04-08T18:59:50.081-05:002019-04-08T18:59:50.081-05:00I really had to think about that, and when I did, ...I really had to think about that, and when I did, I realized that with US authors, I read mainly private or amateur detectives. I read my parents' Dell Shannon books growing up (the Los Angeles PD in the 1960s and 1970s - very much of their time, but I still read them). And there was Tony Hillerman, and later Laurie R. King's Kate Martinelli. But I can't think of anyone writing police procedurals now that I can recommend. I did recently read a couple in a series that I had high hopes for, but I got so irritated with the second book that I abandoned them.Lisahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17782561487396697870noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1203893324932668537.post-8136498344331112962019-04-08T15:16:55.252-05:002019-04-08T15:16:55.252-05:00Another author I am not familiar with. I think the only author I have read consistently is Alafair Burke and her Ellie Hatcher novels, having been sent one for review. Can you recommend any in the same vein?Café Societyhttp://cafesociety956.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.com
