My life in books

I've never been a guest star before, but when Simon kindly invited me to take part in his marvelous series of "My Life in Books" over at Stuck in a Book, of course I said yes immediately.  I've enjoyed the previous series so much, learning more about the readers behind my favorite blogs and finding some new ones to follow.  Reading each series, I also found myself thinking how I'd answer his questions - and now my answers are here.

Thank you again to Simon for organizing these & inviting me to join in the fun.  Thanks also to Jane (Fleur) for nominating me.

  1. I love that story of the confiscated books - I think there was a time when my parents may have feared I would only read Nancy Drew (and her ilk) until I was 40!

  4. Now that I've read I'm very, very pleased that I put your name forward, though you have stirred distant memories of my mother hiding much loved books that she thought I should have grown out of.

  5. vicki, oh yes, Nancy Drew! Sadly though I haven't found those as readable now as some of my other childhood obsessions.

Simon, it's been lovely, and I have some comments to respond to over at your place as well.

Audrey, it was really interesting thinking of the connections between books, and what they've meant over the years.

Jane, I've never met anyone else who had books confiscated! Mostly because I've met so few people in real life who read like we blogging folk read.

  7. Alex, thanks for stopping by. I've been following your blog and like many other of your readers, I now have a book jar (well, a box).

Thank you for taking the time to read, and to comment. I always enjoy hearing different points of view about the books I am reading, even if we disagree!
